Country of Origin: France has been officially recognized as the Poodle’s country of origin, but the
Poodle’s earlier ancestors came from central Asia. The German variety has probably influenced the
modern breed most . In 18th and 19th century Europe, the Poodle served a wide variety of purposes,
including duck hunting, guiding, and later circus performing, from whence the modern grooming style
likely arose.

Size: The Standard Poodle has a shoulder height of 15-18 inches and weighs 45-70 lbs. Standard
Poodles are very elegant in appearance. They have a long, narrow muzzle, slight stop (point at which
the forehead meets the muzzle), dark eyes, and wide ears. Standard Poodles have flat backs, straight,
docked tails and small, oval feet.

Coat: The Standard Poodle has a distinctive fine, frizzy, woolly coat similar in texture to sheep’s wool.
Solid white is most common, but the coat may also be solid grey, brown, apricot, or black.
Standard Poodles do not shed, making them a good match for allergy sufferers, for which reason they
are commonly used for cross breeding. The Standard Poodle gets along well with other animals, other
dogs, and children. It is best to socialize it as a puppy. Standard Poodles will announce the arrival of
visitors, but are generally friendly toward them.

Country of Origin: The Australian Shepherd (affectionately called an ‘Aussie’) does not actually originate
in Australia. It is believed that some Basque farmers brought ancestors of these dogs with them when
they emigrated to Australia, then subsequently to the United States during the 1849 California gold rush.

Size: The Miniature Australian Shepherd has a shoulder height of 13-18"and weighs 20-40 lbs. The
Miniature Australian Shepherd has highly set, triangular ears, a moderately defined stop (point at which
the muzzle meets the forehead), a scissors bite, and brown, blue, or amber eyes (or a combination

Coat: The Miniature Australian Shepherd’s coat ranges from medium to long, with a dense undercoat. It
can be straight or slightly wavy, and is highly weather resistant.

Temperament: The Miniature Australian Shepherd is a great companion for children and other pets,
especially if socialized as a puppy. It can be shy around strangers, as it is territorial by nature. Miniature
Australian Shepherds are affectionate and kindhearted.
Country of Origin: The Aussiedoodle is a 'designer breed' resulting from a cross between the Australian
Shepherd and the Poodle in order to produce a puppy that holds desired traits from both breeds. The
idea of crossing with the Poodle is because of their Non-Shedding coat and has gained much
popularity, particularly with those who suffer from pet related allergies.

Size: The Aussiedoodle can vary in sizes depending upon the size of the poodle breed used in the mix.
However, they generally range from 10-25 inches shoulder height and can weigh between 15-65 pounds.

Character: The Aussiedoodle is a highly intelligent and friendly dog. They are very family orientated and
love spending time with their “People”. Aussiedoodles excel in agility and are often used as service or
therapy dogs.

Coat Care: Depending on the coat type, The AussieDoodle requires occasional brushing or professional
clipping. AussieDoodles with a loose wave require monthly brushing more often for curly coats.
